Restructured committee mandates

Puslinch councillors have finally adopted mandates for restructured committees.

That decision came at the Nov. 2 council meeting, although a  special meeting was held Oct. 19 to review the committee structure. Those committees include: Audit, heritage, Badenoch community centre, committee of adjustment, recreation, planning advisory, public works, and fire and rescue.

Final drafts were presented to councillors Nov. 2.

Mayor Dennis Lever said changes are effective Jan. 1, and council had met a couple of times “to discuss the future of our committees in the township and what direction we wanted to go.”

He said revised mandates outline the frequency of meetings, who is involved, and what roles citizens and councillors will play on them.

“One of the significant changes is that a councillor will chair the committees for planning, recreation, a new roads, and a new fire committee.”

Council adopted the mandates. Those are now posted on  the township website – twp.puslinch.on.ca
