Residents shovel out from first heavy snow of the year

FERGUS – A low-pressure system crossing over from the U.S. late on the night of Jan. 12 caused winter storm warnings for much of southern Ontario. According to data from the Shand Dam weather station, 11 centimetres of snow fell overnight between Jan. 12 and 13 in Fergus, with a total of 20cm of snow measured on the ground last weekend.
