WATT, Donna Marie (née Ovens)
November 25, 1943 – October 17, 2026
It is with heavy hearts that we announce the peaceful passing of Donna Marie Watt, with her loving daughters and her best friend, Gerry, by her side at Groves Memorial Community Hospital in Fergus, on Saturday, October 17, 2026, at the age of 82. Reunited in love, Donna was predeceased by her beloved husband, Donald Loren Watt (2014). She was the cherished and devoted mother of Vickie (Don), Cindy (Paul), and Debbie (Ron). Proud and adoring grandmother to Tonya, Jennifer, Cody, Leslie, Steven, Lisa, Kelly and their families. She will be held closely in memory alongside her grandson, Blake, who predeceased her in 2003. Predeceased by her parents, Elizabeth and Walter Ovens, and her parents-in-law, Earl and Edna Watt. Dear sister to Harold, Eddie, and predeceased by siblings Annie, Dorothy, Gordon, and Marion. Fondly remembered by her extended family, including her surviving siblings-in-law Ted (Judy), Jeanette (John), Richard (Glenna), and Lola (Ron), and predeceased by Joyce, Gary (Sue), and Lincoln. Donna lived her life with warmth, spirit, and an unwavering devotion to those she loved. She could often be found enjoying a game of curling, sharing laughs over cards with friends, or tapping her feet to her favorite Elvis tunes. Above all else, family was her heart, she never, ever missed a family event, big or small, leaving behind a lifetime of cherished traditions and togetherness. A graveside service will be held on Thursday, October 22, 2026, at 10:30am at Greenfield Cemetery in Arthur. Following the service, family and friends are invited to honor and remember Donna at a drop-in Celebration of Life from 12:00pm to 3:00pm at the Fergus Legion (500 Blair Street, Fergus). Please join us to mingle, share memories, and enjoy light refreshments. All are welcome. In lieu of flowers, donations made in Donna’s memory to the Groves Memorial Community Hospital Foundation or the Aboyne Rural Hospice would be deeply appreciated by the family.
