Project tracking sheet proposed

It looks like councillors here will have their own bucket list to make certain issues do not drop off the radar.

At council’s Dec. 6 meeting, Mayor Lou Maieron noted that under items 6.4 and 6.5 [not part of the original council agenda package] most of the items could be classified as works in progress.

“As I look at that and went through the meeting minutes, I noticed there were other work in progress items that would be coming back,” he said.

In an effort to keep accountability of those items, he asked if it is possible to create a monthly listing of works in progress and to scratch them off that list when completed.

It is a system that is used successfully by most municipalities in Wellington County.

Councillor Josie Wintersinger said a tracking sheet, which would allow the items to be moved across from month to month, or from meeting to meeting.

Councillor John Brennan agreed it makes sense to have a proper list of items that could come back time after time until they are resolved.

Wintersinger moved a tracking sheet be developed so council does not lose track of issues.

Maieron quipped, “Do they not call that a bucket list? … I like tracking sheet better.”

The resolution carried.
