Power sources pilfered

Local police have recently been called about a number of thefts involving power sources and fuel.

Sometime between Aug. 14 and 17 gasoline was stolen from a business on Erin Park Drive in Erin village. Unknown suspects cut the chain link fence on the property and stole gas from a van. The van was damaged when suspects punched holes in its fuel tank

On Aug. 20 Wellington County OPP received a report about a theft of a generator from a pickup truck at a residence on Wellington Road 11 in Mapleton Township. The generator is a black and red 2015 Honda (EU20001).

On Aug. 20 Wellington County OPP received a report from Walmart in Fergus regarding the theft of used car batteries that took place overnight. Police say unknown suspect(s) broke into a fenced area at the rear of the building and stole 10 to 15 batteries.
