Police seek help identifying man who 'groped' elderly woman
Police are seeking the public's help to identify a man who sexually assaulted an elderly woman here last week.
On Aug. 24 at about 5:23am an 89-year-old woman was walking on Birmingham Street East near Fergus Street North in Mount Forest when she saw a man smoking a cigarette on a bench in front of the Presbyterian Church.
Wellington County OPP officials say the victim acknowledged the man and walked past him and then he "approached her from behind and groped her."
The victim, though not physically injured, yelled and the man ran away towards Fergus Street, last seen headed south.
Police describe the suspect as about 25 years old, approximately 5-feet, 10-inches tall with a slim build, fair skin and light brown hair. He was wearing beige shorts and a T-shirt at the time of the assault.
