Police searching for gas theft suspect

FERGUS – Police are seeking help to identify a suspect they say was involved in a recent string of thefts at a local gas station.

Wellington County OPP officials say police responded to the Canadian Tire Gas Bar on Tower Street in Fergus on Nov. 17 at about 8:30pm.

“[A suspect] attended the gas bar, filled their vehicle with approximately $50 worth of gas and left without paying,” police stated in a Nov. 19 press release.

“Police believe this suspect is the culprit of two other thefts at the same location.”

The OPP describes the suspect as a white man with facial hair and a thin build. The vehicle is described as a black BMW with licence plate CFDV229 on the front and CBJH037 on the back.
