Police say ‘no criminality involved’ in incident that left man with gunshot wound

FERGUS – Police say there was “no criminality involved” in an incident on the weekend involving a “self-inflicted” gunshot wound.

On the evening of July 18, a man was brought to Groves hospital in Fergus suffering from a gunshot wound.

Dufferin County OPP Staff Sergeant Nicol Randall told the Advertiser there was “an incident” in East Garafraxa on Saturday, though she did not provide the time or location.

She said the gunshot victim was brought by ambulance to the hospital.

Police investigated and found the gunshot would was “self inflicted” and there was “no criminality involved” in the incident, Randall stated.

The status of the patient is not known.
