Police on lookout after hit-and-run in Wellington North

WELLINGTON NORTH – Wellington County OPP are looking for a dark-coloured SUV, possibly with damage to the rear passenger side, following a hit-and-run outside of Mount Forest.

On Nov. 23, at around 6am, police responded to a collision between a vehicle and a pedestrian on Highway 89 and Southgate Sideroad 57, east of Mount Forest, according to a news release.

A pedestrian, outside of their vehicle, parked on the road shoulder, was struck by what police say was an SUV travelling eastbound on Highway 89.

The driver did not stop, and the pedestrian was taken to hospital with minor injuries.

Police continue to investigate and want help identifying the driver and vehicle.
