MOUNT FOREST – Police are seeking help to identify the person(s) responsible for a break-in and theft at a local business.
On June 25 at about 7am, Wellington County OPP officers were dispatched to a business on Main Street North in Mount Forest.
Police say that at about 12:30am “an unidentified suspect cut a hole through a wall of a business, granting access to the interior. The suspect took cash from the register and an entire safe, before fleeing the scene in an unknown direction.”
Police describe the suspect as “believed to be male,” dressed all in black and wearing a dark coloured backpack.
“The estimated value of the stolen property, and cost of the repairs is unknown at this time,” police stated in a June 26 press release.
“We are urging the public to come forward with any information in relation to this matter; including any dash camera or door cam footage through the area around the time of the occurrence.”
Partner violence
WELLINGTON COUNTY – Local police continue to lay intimate partner violence charges across the county.
Those arrested include:
– a 22-year-old from North Perth, who was charged with mischief (under $5,000), failing to comply with a probation order and two counts of assault with a weapon (spousal) in relation to an incident in Mapleton on June 22;
– a 35-year-old from Erin, who was charged with assault (spousal) and assault with a weapon (spousal) in relation to an incident in Erin on June 22; and
– a 36-year-old from Guelph, who was charged with criminal harassment and harassing communications, in relation to an incident in Guelph/Eramosa on June 25.
The accused individuals are to appear in Guelph court at a later date.
