It is not just noise that is causing concern at Erin’s new skatepark.
On Sept. 4, Mayor Lou Maieron referred to the minutes of the previous council meeting referring to the excessive noise levels the skatepark ramps are generating and what solutions could be put in place.
At the time, council asked that those using the skatepark be educated on the rules to be followed at the facility.
Maieron said that on the weekend prior to council “I had two residents say that there was still garbage on the ground- even though there are recycling and garbage containers available. Maieron said the phrase used was “the town has just provided you with a $100,000 skatepark and there are bottles all over the ground.”
Essentially the concern was that the users should take some care of the wonderful new skatepark – “not just throw garbage on the grounds.”
He suggested forwarding the message to Bill Dundwoody that those using the park should help take care of it.
Councillor John Brennan summed it up “if you have something nice, don’t wreck it.”
