OPP issue scam warning
County OPP are reminding residents about the “emergency scam,” in which a phone call is placed to a victim by someone posing as a relative or friend.
They may say they are in jail and need bail money to get out of jail (another person may also pose as a lawyer).
Once a person has sent money, it is very difficult to get the money back.
