OPP investigating several vehicle thefts
Police are asking for information related to several vehicle thefts here last week.
On Feb. 4 at about 3:45am Wellington County OPP received a call about a 2006 Dodge pickup truck that was stolen from a residence on Sideroad 5. The vehicle was quickly located abandoned in a field at Sideroad 5 and Jones Baseline.
Police say footprints in the snow led a residence on Jones Baseline, where the suspect(s) stole a 2006 Chevrolet SUV from the garage. Officers patrolling the area also located a 2001 Subaru stuck in a snowbank near the home that was reported stolen to Waterloo police.
Police say two other home owners in the area said attempts were made to steal their vehicle and/or fuel from their tanks, and police also recovered stolen items left behind by the suspect(s), included tools, electronics, and personal accessories.
