OPP investigate trailer thefts in Erin, Mapleton

Police are investigating recent thefts of utility trailers in Mapleton and Erin.

TOWN OF ERIN –Wellington County OPP received a call about the theft of a utility trailer here that occurred sometime between March 1 around 11am and March 3 at 5:45am.

The theft occurred at a business on Pioneer Drive in Erin village and the trailer is described as a white 2006 Legend 717 with an enclosed 17’ x 7’ box, VIN:  1L9717VF461317424, with a pad lock on back rear doors, and a front nose area that is “V” shaped.

On right rear door are various stickers of several racetracks and also on the right rear door is a Canadian and Ireland flag.

Located inside the trailer were the following items;

- various hand tools (sockets and wrenches);

- Dainese blue and white racing leathers with blue and red stripes;

- black Daytona racing boots;

- Shoei motorcycle helmet, blue with a full, tinted visor;

- HJC blue, white, and red motorcycle helmet with full visor;

- Skidoo snowmobile helmet;

- black Mastercraft tool chest with various hand tools and manuals for racing bikes;

- tire rack bolted to left wall; and

- unique red metal fuel can (tear drop shaped, 3 to 4L).

MAPLETON TWP. - On Feb. 26, Wellington County OPP received a call of a trailer stolen from a business on 8th Line here.

The theft occurred sometime between Feb. 25 at 6pm and Feb. 26 8am.

Unknown suspect(s) stole a white, twin axle 2007 utility trailer that featured a graphic wrap with “CFS” (Clean Field Services) and a picture of corn.

Police say the suspect vehicle is a burgundy Dodge Ram pickup mega-cab with a gas tank or box in the bed of the truck.
