OPP conclude investigation into body found at car fire
The Wellington County OPP detachment has concluded their investigation into a body found at a car fire near Belwood on March 16.
On March 16 at approximately 11:55am, members of the OPP were contacted regarding a vehicle fire on 6th Line north of Wellington County Road 18, Centre Wellington Twp.
Uniform officer along with Centre Wellington Fire and Rescue attended and located the body of a deceased party in the vehicle.
The Ontario Fire Marshals Office was called in and the OPP crime unit and forensic unit attended the scene of a car fire to identify a deceased person.
6th Line Centre Wellington Twp. between County Road 18 and Sideroad 9 was closed for several hours.
The post mortem examination has been completed by the Centre of Forensic Sciences and has deemed the cause of death not suspicious.
On March 18, police concluded its investigation and will not be releasing the name of the deceased.
