Eight candidates are officially running for the empty chair on Wellington North council.
Staff at the township office has certified the official list of candidates.
Ross Chaulk, David Culp, Jens Dam, Clifford Heffernan, Lisa Hern, John Matusinec, Stephen O’Neill and Gerald (Shep) Shepetunko are vying for the Ward 3 councillor position.
Electors should ensure their name and relevant information are shown on the voters list and are correct. Electors can confirm by contacting the municipal office by telephone at 519-848-3620 or in person.
The municipal office will also be open for extended hours on Nov. 7 from 11am to 3pm and Nov. 12 from 4:30 to 8pm to provide assistance to voters.

Important dates
Oct. 13 – The last day for voters to add their name to the voters list to receive the vote-by-mail kit.
Oct. 23 – Voter’s kits are mailed out.
Oct. 24 – Voters can begin to send in ballots.
Nov. 6 – Last day to return the ballot by mail.
Nov. 2 to 16 at 8pm – voters can deliver ballots directly to the municipal office.
