Officer assaulted twice, woman arrested

GUELPH – A Guelph woman was arrested after a Guelph Police officer was assaulted twice last Saturday.

Officials say police responded to “a disturbance at a downtown apartment,” on Saturday afternoon.

“While on scene a woman made concerning comments and barricaded herself in a room,” police stated in an Oct. 27 press release. “As officers attempted to check her wellbeing she kicked one of them in the legs. She was placed under arrest but bit the same officer hard enough to leave teeth imprints through two layers of clothing.”

A 24-year-old Guelph woman was charged with two counts of assaulting a police officer. She is to appear in Guelph court on Dec. 9.
