On October 20, 2010 about 40 people attended the Fergus BIA annual general meeting to elect their Board. The new Fergus BIA represents a great mix of retail, service, and tourism from throughout the downtown area – A.J. Broderick (Broderick’s), Melanie Cooper (Martin Cooper Hair Company), Deb Dalziel (Fergus Scottish Festival), Jackie Fraser (Fraberts Fresh Food), Lindsey Gray (Thomson Funeral Home), Tory Laing (Wolfe Smith Forster), and George Mochrie (Cherry Hill Entertainment).
They will be working on strengthening partnerships within the community and beyond to enhance our effectiveness and to get things done. Our first focus will be on the Christmas season and making shopping downtown Fergus an enjoyable experience for your family. Then in the new year they’ll be looking for input from the entire community as they move forward – stay tuned!
Congratulations to Mayor Ross-Zuj and everyone on the new council. The group look forward to working with them over the next four years.
