Mutual respect offered

After all this time, councillor David Turton remains impressed by the work of area firefighters in Minto and throughout Wellington and Dufferin counties

Turton reported to council that he and Mayor David Anderson were recently at a rousing Fire Mutual Aid meeting in Clifford.

“It’s kind of amazing,” he said. “I’ve been to a few of these and it always amazes me that a group of diverse men and women from all over Wellington and Dufferin come to Clifford.” He estimated there were about 75 people to listen to the speakers and share stories of the mutual aid they have done in the two counties and how they help each other out – how they scratch each other’s back and how they work together for the communities.

“It’s kind of neat to stand around talking to firemen about different things,” he said. “They come from Puslinch and Orangeville to Clifford to hear people speak.
