Mustang Pee Wee “˜BB”™ best in the west

The girls of the Grand River Mustang Pee Wee ‘BB’ team worked very hard and achieved great success this season, team officials said.  

The team finished on top of the west division through the Lower Lakes Female Hockey League (LLFHL) regular season with an impressive 19-3-0 record.  

The team then swept its first two playoff opponents before facing the formidable West Huron Wave in the final – capping off the very tense three-game series with an exciting overtime win to become the west champions and move on to the prestigious LLFHL Championships March 27 to 28 in Oshawa.  

The team competed in four tournaments this season and took home two golds and a silver, including final wins against two of the top ranked teams in the province.

The Mustangs also swept their provincial region playoff group 6-0-0 to qualify for the provincial championships April 10 to 12.

In all, the girls have achieved a team record to date of 44-7-7 with 118 goals for and 31 goals against.  

Goalie Kamryn Wilson and her defence have secured an impressive 35 shutouts.
