Mount Forest water tower back in service

Some outdoor water restrictions remain in effect

MOUNT FOREST – The Mount Forest water tower overlooking Miller Street and Parkside Drive is back in service and starting to look a little fresher.

The tower was drained on May 17 for rehabilitation work, including a new interior liner and an exterior coat of paint, including the beloved “High, Healthy, Happy” motto.

An Aug. 18 press release from the township announced the tower is flush with water and back in service.

Contractors will remain on site through September completing exterior work.

Some outdoor-use water restrictions implemented in May remain in effect.

Watering of a lawn, garden, tree, shrub, or plants may be done between 6am and 9am or 7pm and 10pm on even calendar days for those in even-numbered residences, and vice-versa for odd calendar days.

“In the case of extreme water shortage, a total ban on non-essential use of water may be initiated by the [township],” the release states.
