Mount Forest Fireworks Festival makes Top 100 Ontario Festivals list

MOUNT FOREST – On Feb. 28, the Mount Forest Fireworks Festival was once again named one of the Top 100 Festivals in the province by Festival and Events Ontario (FEO).

The achievement was announced at an awards gala dinner in Niagara Falls.

The Mount Forest Fireworks Festival made the list 12 consecutive years prior to the COVID-19 pandemic, and twice more consecutively post-pandemic.

“The Mount Forest District Chamber of Commerce is thrilled to have received this award recognizing The Mount Forest Fireworks Festival as a Top 100 Festival or Event in Ontario,” said festival chair Sharon Wenger.

“This could not be achieved without the generosity and involvement of our amazing sponsors, the festival planning committee and hundreds of volunteers throughout the weekend.

“It is an astonishing achievement for the town of Mount Forest and we are happy to be a part of making our community a special place to visit and live.”

These “highly revered” awards reflect the “best of the best” in industry practices, hard work and commitment of those who make the festivals and events industry in Ontario successful, stated Mount Forest District Chamber of Commerce administrator Stacey Stevenson in an email to the Community News.

“The FEO Top 100 Festivals and Events Program is recognized by festival-goers, peers and government officials alike as Ontario’s leading source of quality festivals and events happening across the province,” she added, noting the fireworks festival committee is “already hard at work planning this year’s event.”

The festival will celebrate its 22nd anniversary July 18 to 21.
