Missing man found

At approximately 10am on July 4, Wellington County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) received a report of an abandoned vehicle on Queen Street in Puslinch Township.

Investigation revealed the registered owner of the vehicle was missing from the City of Hamilton and was possibly in medical distress. The Hamilton Police Service was contacted and OPP were advised the man was last seen at his residence at 4am.

Uniform officers along with the Emergency Response Team (ERT) and the Canine Unit searched the village of Morriston and the surrounding area.  The missing man, Steven Schmidt, 63, was located at approximately 2:20pm by the Canine Unit and ERT officers. He was disoriented but otherwise in good health.
