Thirty six young women recently participated in the Miss Midwest Competition.
Among them was Arthur Fair Ambassador Kirsten Allsop, Alma’s Rebecca Grose, Erin Agricultural Society’s Cassandra Chornoboy, Harriston Agricultural Society representative Madison Riddols, Palmerston Agricultural Society representative Yvonne Ruest, and Mount Forest Agricultural Society representative Kristen Lewis.
They participated in the competition in Walkerton.
Winning the title was Jackie Burgess, 19, of Mildmay, who represented the Ontario Firefighters Association.
The contestants will be heading to Toronto to compete in the 38th annual Ambassador of the Fairs Competition running Aug. 20 to 23.
Each year, 80 young women and men from across Ontario attend the CNE representing their local fair and sharing their knowledge of Canadian Agriculture to compete for the title of Ambassador of the Fairs.
