Minto chamber elects directors and plans achievement awards

The 2013 Minto Chamber of Commerce board of directors was elected at the organization’s annual general meeting on Feb. 4.

New board members include: Kyle Welsh, Minto Computers; Paul Brown, Paul Brown Insurance; and Holly Grotenhuis, Paul Brown Insurance.

Returning directors are president John Mock,  Harriston Home Hardware; vice-president Tony Tsotros, Harry Stone’s Pizza Burger; treasurer Mary-Lou Colwell, C&M Seeds/Palmerston Grain; secretary Joe McLaughlin, McLaughlin Financial; past-President Glen Hall, OSiM nteractive; John Burgess, Kimbal Printing; Randy and Sandra Martin, Evergreen Variety; Ralph Drost, Meiklejohn House; Rob Mattice, Harriston Bakery; Kelsey Langridge, Lakeridge Heating and Cooling; Lisa Leslie, Leslie Motors; John Cox, Total Home Systems; and Randy Ruetz, Larry Grummett Insurance.

Business awards

Nominations are now being accepted for the 2013 Minto Business Achievement Awards in the following categories:

– Harriston Home Hardware Outstanding Organization Award;

– Larry Grummett Insurance Business Community Service Award;

– McLaughlin Financial Group Employer Excellence Award; and

– Wightman Telecom Business Innovation Award.

Nomination forms are available on the chamber website. The award banquet will be held on May 16 at the Roundhouse Restaurant at the King Hotel.
