Ministry seeks those responsible for shooting swans
Provincial officials are seeking clues to help find those responsible for the recent shootings of swans at the Luther Marsh.
The Ministry of Natural Resources and Forestry (MNRF) says during the first week of October a trumpeter swan was found floating in the marsh by a conservation officer.
The swan, believed to have been shot and left in the water during the first few days of October, had a metal leg band and two large yellow wing tags.
Another trumpeter swan was shot at the marsh Oct. 10.
“Hunters in the area reported seeing the swan shot down around 9am,” stated an MNRF press release.
Officials are asking anyone with information to call the MNRF at 1-877-847-7667 any time, or a local ministry office during regular business hours, or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477.
