The little stone church on the hill on County Road 26 is inviting former members and their families to return to their roots.
Any children who were brought up going to the Mimosa United Church Sunday School or church are being asked to come back home, and to bring their children, grandchildren, and even their great-grandchildren to join the present congregation on Sept. 18 at 10am for an anniversary reunion.
There will be stories of Sunday school at Mimosa through the decades, reminders of youth groups, garden parties and strawberry socials and pictures of special events and weddings.
Memories will be shared with other generations of the Mimosa community.
Those with fond memories are asked to bring pictures, videos and stories to share with those who may not know of the history of the 147 year old institution and to let the next generations know about the rich past of Mimosa church.
The congregation hopes to welcome many former members and their families and catch up on the children of the church and their children’s children. Members will be taking photos for the new memory wall.
