Meth charge for Arthur woman

MOUNT FOREST – An Arthur woman was charged with drug possession after police responded to a residence here for an unrelated matter.

Wellington County OPP officials say officers responded “to the report of an incident at an address in Mount Forest” on Dec. 6 at about 4:15pm.

Police say “they found an individual to be in possession of methamphetamine.”

Asked where the incident occurred and why police were originally called there, OPP spokesperson Carly McKeown would only say police “attended a residence … for an unrelated call for service.

“While at the call they located the accused in possession of drugs.”

Ashley Hotchkiss, 38, of Arthur, was charged with possession of a Schedule I substance (methamphetamine).

She is to appear in Guelph court on Jan. 6.
