March 31 last day to apply for tuition break

Thousands of students across Ontario have already received cheques for the new 30% Ontario tuition rebate.

The deadline for getting applications in is approaching and college and university students should apply now.

College diploma and certificate students could get $365 back this semester, and university and college degree students could get $800 back.

The new 30% off Ontario tuition grant applies to full-time students at a public college or university in Ontario, who have been out of high school for four years or fewer.

It is for students who have entered a program directly from high school, and for families with a gross income of $160,000 or lower.

Students who receive money through the Ontario Student Assistance Program are automatically considered for the new grant, and do not need to apply.

Students who do not receive OSAP must complete an online form, and send a signed application in via fax or mail.

The deadline for applications with all supporting documents is March 31.
