Man arrested for possessing child sex abuse material
GUELPH – A Guelph man has been charged with possession of child sexual abuse and exploitation material.
Guelph Police officials say the service’s Internet Child Exploitation Unit began an investigation late last year after receiving information from the U.S.-based National Centre for Missing and Exploited Children about materials being uploaded to a social media app.
“In December, a search warrant was executed at an address near Victoria Road North and Woodlawn Road East and several devices were seized,” police stated in a press release.
“One of these devices was found to contain child sexual abuse and exploitation material...”
On Feb. 17 a 30-year-old Guelph man was arrested. He is to appear in Guelph court on May 22.
