ERIN – Town staff presented the 2026 draft budget to Erin council on Nov. 27. It includes a proposed 2.5% tax increase to cover total operating expenses of $10.5 million and capital expenditures close to $9 million.

ERIN – Erin’s Main Street came alive on Nov. 21 as residents and visitors took to the street for the town’s Window Wonderland event.

HILLSBURGH – The Hillsburgh Community Committee hosted its annual Christmas tree lighting ceremony on Nov. 22.

ERIN – The council chamber here was the centre of a brewing conflict recently, as councillors, residents and county planners clashed over a proposed growth-management policy that would see 120 rural severances reallocated from Erin to Puslinch.

ERIN - Wellington County OPP say a report about a person with a gun near Erin Public School around 2:30pm on Nov. 21 is unfounded.

ERIN – Town council here has approved annual water rate increases of 3 per cent from 2026 to 2030, then 5% per year until 2034.

ERIN – Adult skaters from Skate Canada Mount Forest competed in the Provincial Series Adult Events Competition in Erin on Nov. 16.

ERIN – The Ross Ferguson Royal Canadian Air Cadet squadron once again did their overnight vigil in Erin leading up to Remembrance Day from 8pm Nov. 10 to 8am Nov.11.

HILLSBURGH  – Pantomimes are a tradition at Century Church Theatre in Hillsburgh.  Every November and December a classic fairy tale, or well-known children’s story, comes to life with a bit of a twist, much to the enjoyment of audiences, say officials.
