Local team fundraising for Swaziland mission

A six person team from Centre Wellington and Guelph is heading to Swaziland, in south east Africa, to work on building school structures and feeding, clothing and teaching children.

The team of Dean Dunbar, Morgan Dunbar, Jane Douglas, Kellianne Land, Fred Cousineau  and Mary Ann Scheider are going on their mission from May 2 to 16.

Before they leave the team is hoping to fundraise as much as possible.

Land is a Centre Wellington artist and is running a silent auction, the Swaziland Express, for four pieces of art: a plein air oil landscape of the Grand River at Aboyne bellow the trellis, a large floral pastel called “Rose Shadow,” an acrylic painting of the Pleiades and a lacquered wood shadowbox called “Parakletos.”

All the pieces are ready to hang, framed and in gallery format.

They will be at St. James Anglican Church in Fergus in the narthex until April 23.

All proceeds from the sale will go to the team’s projects in Swaziland.

The team’s travel, accommodations are paid for by the team members personally so that everything donated is for the people who we are serving.

For more information or to make a donation contact the church office at -519-843-2141 or Land at 519-993-8739 or kellianne.fleming.land@gmail.com.
