Living on less workshop enters third year of community education

The Living On Less workshop is entering its third year with a coming fall event, running Mondays from 9:30am to noon for seven weeks starting Oct. 17 to Nov. 28.

It is a free workshop, sponsored this session by the Rotary Club of Guelph and several downtown Guelph churches, including St. James Anglican at Paisley and Glasgow, where the workshop is held.

The purpose of the workshops is to teach people to live on less financially and environmentally by bringing existing resources together (different people lead each session, focusing on such things as housing and health, food and eating, financial plans, etc), and the invitation is for participants to bring their own wealth of experience.

As part of the series, there is also a community kitchen offered, where participants can cook together using recipes that are health-conscious and thrifty. There is no religious focus to the workshop.

It is open to anyone, and the encouraged atmosphere is sharing together.  There are some spots for childcare (also free) available, but they are limited, and registration is required.
