The downtown revitalization committee here plans a “Light up the Town” event later this year in conjunction with the Christmas and winter season. The event will see parts of the town lit up with decorative lighting starting at the end of November and running until March.
Tannery Park will be the first location lit up with lights showing snowflake patterns.
The committee also has plans to light up other parts of the town, including the tree at the library, old post office, cenotaph park and eventually downtown.
Business manager Belinda Wick-Graham said the committee is looking for sponsors to offset the cost of lighting in different area.
