Discriminate Much?

It was with distaste that I read a ‘help wanted’ ad that stated ‘do not apply with visible tattoos and face piercings’.

Now, may daughter, who has both piercings and tats, works in the food industry. She is a trained Red Seal Chef. She has worked as both a waitress and a baker in some upscale establishments. This restaurant would dismiss her as an applicant just because how she chooses to express herself.

Is this even legal?

I find it especially ironic that we have an exhibit called ‘My Story, My Tattoo’ running at the museum at the same time.

Perhaps the restaurant owners should partake of this exhibit in order to open their minds to today’s young (and not so young) people who choose this form of self expression.
