After the press conference that Blue Jay pitcher Marco Estrada had today with the media, his salary got me thinking. He will make 26 million dollars in 2 years. That works out to 13 million per year. If he plays 20 games a season that works out to 650 thousand dollars per game. If he throws an average of 100 pitches a game, that works out to 6,500 dollars per throw. So he will make what I make in a year after throwing his sixth pitch in the first game of next season. Now, I say, good for him for being on the right side of Capitalism. But it just It just got me thinking about the majority of us that were born on the wrong side.
