I moved to Fergus back in February. I moved from a small town north of highway 89, where you know everyone and never lock your doors. Moving to Fergus, I became apprehensive about living in such a larger community.
Last week I left my wallet at a corn stand on the side of the road. I was upset by my negligence, but later that week a police officer called me to inform me that my wallet, along with a bag of change, had been turned in at Rockwood.
When I arrived at the dispatch, I was so relieved to have my wallet back, more for the cards you cannot replace so easily. I found my cash, visa and all of my important cards exactly where I had placed them, and I said to the receptionist, “isn’t it a blessing that there are still good, honest people out there?”, to which she agreed.
I have no idea who this good samaritan is, nor do I have a way to find out. I just wanted to send my sincere appreciation for the person who found my belongings and turned them in to the police. Thank you from the bottom of my heart for being the honest person that you are. It is so great to see that even moving to a new and bigger town, I still live in an very caring and close community.
