Dear Editor: Re: The “G” word Aug 8,2014
It appears someone has a problem with Robert Service’s charter right to free expression. The word “ghetto” is the appropriate word to describe the enclave into which are driven the wind turbine refugees, as it is a place where people, due to various circumstances, do not choose to go but are forced to go.
Ironically, a manufacturer named Siemens has exercised its’ free speech to air a TV ad which sets the blade noises of 400 of its’ turbines in Ohio to a Strauss Waltz,to prove how beautiful they sound!Strauss must be rolling over in his grave.I doubt that Mr. Service has ever heard the strains of The Blue Danube coming through his bedroom window at night.
Something Mr. Service does not mention in his letter is the undemocratic exclusion of Ontario municipal governments to participate in the decision making in regards to the location of industrial turbine bird choppers.
Perhaps when a few thousand more mills are in place, we’ll hear our freedom of speech finally being drowned out by Wagner’s “Ride of the Valkyries”- conductor Ms. D. McWynne
