Mr. Varty, you are correct. Galileo did discover heliocentrism calling it fact whereas Copernicus called it theory.Galileo ran afowl of the Church when he dared comment on matters of theology.This dust up resulted in his exile to fairly nice Church owned digs in Tuscany.
As for Darwin’s Theory it is just that and doubtless will remain so as Man could not have evolved from apes.Why? Different DNA. Man has four heart chambers- apes three.Man has twelve thoracic vertebrae- apes thirteen. Man is hairless and tailess.Man has two opposable thumbs- apes four.Man was Given reason, knowledge and a soul. Apes were Given instinct. To date the missing link has ever been found. Finally, if Man did not evolve from apes,neither did the Earth or any of it’s other creatures.There it is- evidence.
