Every year I read the coverage of county and township budget preparations. Every year staff come with ludicrous increases of 9% or more. Then every year, after much “debate,” “analysis,” and “discussion” the counties and townships lower the tax increases to 3 or 5% . This is a blatant attempt to calm public outrage by setting expectations high and coming in low. Like lambs to slaughter…

Perhaps providing less salary increases for staff who aren’t doing their jobs effectively to begin with should be a lower priority, and keeping more hard earned dollars with families should be top priority!
