Let’s take a moment to celebrate Grey-Bruce and Wellington’s hard-working nurses

To the Editor:

I would like to take this opportunity to encourage the residents of Grey-Bruce and Wellington to take a moment to recognize the truly incredible contributions of our nurses. The contributions they make to our lives, the lives of our friends and family and the well-being of our community.

May 12 to 18 is Nursing Week – the perfect opportunity to thank these skilled, knowledgeable and dedicated professionals for the invaluable contributions they make to our health care system.

Nurses dedicate their lives to making a positive difference in the lives of others. At one point or another, nurses touch all of our lives — whether it’s in a maternity ward, emergency room, long-term care facility, operating room, palliative care setting, community care setting … the list goes on. And we can always count on nurses to provide their expert brand of knowledge, caring and compassion when their patients, clients or residents need them.

Please join me in recognizing and thanking our local nurses for the incredible work they do. Our community simply wouldn’t be the same without them.

Sincerely,
Anne McKenzie
