Where are the doctors???
My husband and I are waiting….. waiting and waiting to have a family doctor. After moving to Elora over a year ago, and going to many doctors’ offices in the area and being told that no space was available for us, we are still without one. We were on a waiting list for 8 months, and then we were told to contact the Health Care Connect which we did. Finally today we get a letter from them announcing that they have a doctor for us. This is great news, so we call this doctor’s office, to be told once again not to expect any contact from them for another couple of months. We are both in our late 60’s and try to keep in good health. But as a precaution we would at least like to be able to have a check-up once a year, just to make sure that everything is as it should. According to health officials we have no way to do that, without a family doctor. So after all these years of being quite well looked after healthwise, we are now finding it difficult to get even the basic medical care. We know that we are not alone in this situation, and we wonder what we should do? Any suggestions?
