I am very disappointed with our goverment services when it come to employement acts and how employers are allowd to treat thier employee’s with little to no reprocussions. My wife was just terminated from a job at a local factory because she was not allowing her manager to belittle her in front of other employees, this is the second time this has happened with the first time being no more than 2 months ago with the manager being requested to give her a verbal applogy. This time it resulted in her leaving work in tears and then receiving a call from the HR department telling her she was terminated and the reason was that it was not working out. When my wife contacted the labor board she was informed they don’t handle these types of issues and to contact a lawyer. Unfortunatley we can not afford a lawyer so we are left standing alone. I guess it is getting back to the days were you need a union to fight for you as the goverment does nothing.
