My family and I have been volunteers for Grand River All Breed Animal Rescue (GRAB) for over 5 years now. We have opened our home to foster abused or abandoned animals until they find their forever home. We have had the joy of having cats, kittens, dogs, puppies, my children have even witnessed the birth of kittens!!!(all vet and food bills are covered by the rescue). We have learned many things while fostering, the time commitment for an animal, the difference between a high energy and a HIGH energy dog, different personalities of cats, I believe I have become a lover of black and white or all black cats….every one we have fostered has been amazing! It even helped us figure out which breeds of dogs were not meant for our family. We did finally “fail fostering” and adopted a dog ourselves. We named him Foster as he was only supposed to be a ….Foster!!! He couldn’t fit into our family any better and we can’t imagine life without him!! We try to help in other ways as running a 100% volunteer run rescue is not cheap! We are running a fundraiser of selling Treasures Coupon Books. These books are amazing!!!
