the following email was sent to Michael Chong good-morning michael: driving to work this morning listening to talk radio the two topics were the growing occupy movement and a discussion about our federal government adding MP seats. we are lucky to live in a country like canada but if we/you do not change our ways and have our elected officials do what is right and not just what will get them re-elected, we are ALL headed for bankruptcy. its time to say no. adding government is wrong. perhaps consider a redistribution of the current MP territories. these added MPs with staff will cost the country millions of dollars a year going forward forever. there is no more money!!!!!! when the people the population financially support are doing much much better than most of the population over their working and retired lives, something is wrong. the system needs to be changed to reward our elected officials for voting for the right thing to benefit all, not just tow the party line and grow the government. other thoughts: the senate should be abolished more open votes proportional representation, not first past the post all government expenses and spending need to be public – every dime! less bs on the floor the gap between haves and have nots is wider and getting worse [occupy movement]. look at Greece. we are only a few years away from that situation I have three children and looking down the road does not look encouraging. smaller overhead [government] reduce government entitlements there is no more money!!!
