Legal battle has cost over $250,000

The financial cost of dismissing two fire officials has now reached over $250,000 for Puslinch Township.

On Oct. 21, council approved the payment of a $2,330 bill for services rendered in July and August by Toronto legal firm Filion Wakely Thorup Angeletti. The bill stems from the December dismissal of former Fire Chief Dan Quinnell and former Fire Prevention Officer Richard Quinnell.

That brings the township’s legal costs to $84,707. Combined with the settlement paid to the Quinnells, the municipality’s total cost for the legal battle is now at $250,467.
