Learning centre hosts poverty simulation

The Wellington  County Learning Centre in Arthur is hosting a poverty simulation on Nov. 23.

The event is to show individuals the daily struggles of those living in poverty.

Fifteen people will play the role of agencies, police, doctors and social services.

The participants will get a first hand experience in dealing with daily issues those in poverty face.

Statistics Canada data indicates 15,000 (nearly 7 per cent) community members are living in poverty.

The event takes place on Nov. 23 at 1 to 3:30pm at the Arthur arena.
