Kitchener man dies after falling into Belwood Lake
An elderly man is dead after a boat overturned and he fell into Belwood Lake on the morning of May 8.
Dead is Gordon Villeneuve, 77, of Kitchener.
Wellington County OPP officers were called to Belwood Lake at approximately 8:50am on Thursday.
Police say a Grand River Conservation Authority employee located a capsized aluminum boat near the Shand Dam with a male in the water nearby.
The man was pulled from the water by the Centre Wellington Fire Rescue Department and transported by Guelph-Wellington EMS to a local hospital, where he was pronounced dead.
Police say the cause of death is still under investigation.
