Jumpathon on Aug. 16 to support Get In Touch For Hutch

Proceeds from this year’s jumpathon at the Harriston Kinsmen Pool will assist Ontario Miss Midwest Jordan Scholten in her efforts to raise funds for the GetInTouchForHutch Buddy Bench program.

Scholton, a Harriston resident, choose the charity as the recipient of her fundraising efforts during the coming year after winning the Ontario Miss Midwest title on July 9 in Walkerton.

The jumpathon will be held at the Harriston pool from 3 to 6:30pm on Aug. 16. Participants must pre-register by Aug. 14 at the pool, at Harriston Bakery (22 Elora Street) or Harry Stones (19 Elora Street).

Participants can enjoy a barbecue, pool activities and prizes for $15 or $40 for a family of four. Community members are also welcome to attend the event and purchase food.

Organizers are looking for participants on a celebrity team.

Each will receive a Miss Mid West certificate recognizing their efforts on one of the 10 challenge events, such as biggest splash, furthest jump, best cannonball or best front flip. For information call 519-889-1781.
