Invitation extended for “˜Big Night Out”™ in Fergus

Big Brothers Big Sisters of Centre Wellington (BBBS) is planning a “Big Night Out” celebration here next month.

Officials say the impact the organization has had since opening its doors in 2001 is nothing short of life changing.

“We often hear stories about the positivity that comes out of our one-on-one matches  …” said board chair Neil Armstrong.

The BBBS “Bigs,” or the men and women mentoring the “Littles,” will be celebrated at the Big Night Out event on April 23 at the Centre Wellington Community Sportsplex in Fergus.

BBBS executive director Jane Cooper, who will be retiring in June, will also be recognized for 26 years of dedication to the organization.

BBBS officials add the success of the organization would not be possible without community support.

“Our volunteers and donor support is vital,” stated committee chair and board vice-chair Lisa Bloor.

“We would love to get every child on the waitlist matched with someone that will help re-write their story and give them a brighter future.

“To do this, we need to fundraise and the committee has been working hard to stock Big Night Out with amazing live and silent auction prizes and an opportunity to Fund a Friendship.”

Join BBBS Centre Wellington for an evening of celebration on April 23 at the Fergus Sportsplex.

The event is being hosted by Kelly Waterhouse, Wellington Advertiser columnist and News director at The Grand 101.1FM.

Tickets are available online by visiting www.bigbrothersbigsisters.ca/centrewellington, in Elora at Cork Restaurant and in Fergus at Boston Pizza and Fraberts.
